Galvin's Letters, part 2
A letter that catches up with Galvin on the evening of 1/14, in Madrid.1/12/1348
To the Honored Acting Headmaster of the Order of Epona, Galvin Dubois:
I have very sad news to convey.
I and my men have followed your instructions to find your family in the village of Chelan. When we reached the village, we found that every last soul in the village has fallen to the plague. It must have been a virulent strain, as it appears that everyone in the village died in a two-day period, about six days ago.
Among the dead we found a family matching the description of yours; two adults, one teenaged girl, three children. All were dead. After sorting through some papers we found, we confirmed that this was indeed the Dubois household.
As is customary in these situations, we built pyres and burned all of the bodies that we found in the village, lest the bodies spread disease. I have enclosed a packet of papers rescued from the house of your family, as well as a sword and a few other trinkets that seemed to have sentimental value.
My deepest sympathies, Headmaster. I wish I had better news for you.
Sir Edan Dacis, Knight Lieutenant, Paladin of Her Holy Order of Epona
